WHY IS STANDARD SEVEN VALUABLE?
During my FPE 1/2, I certainly found myself engaging with parents, carers and school colleagues. These relationships and networks outside the four walls of the classroom contribute towards the development of the students and myself as a graduate teacher. These relationships made outside of the classroom, certainly impact the learning development of the students. By knowing what is occurring in a student's life inside and outside of school, teachers can alter their teaching in order to accomodate to the individual student's needs. Throughout my FPE1/2, I had engaged with parents and carers on numerous occasions. As part of my FPE 1/2, I worked collaboratively with a number of parent/family volunteers and members of the community to co-ordinate the school's NAIDOC week, cricket carnival, cross country, school open night, talent day and sausage sizzle. I was able to quickly build many positive and professional relationships with parents and members within the school community, which only made my journey at the school easier and more effective.

Action Plan - Moving Foward
- As a graduate teacher, I will continue to strive to engage with parents, carers and colleagues around me. As stated above, these relationships and networks outside the four walls of the classroom, contribute towards the development of the students and myself as a graduate teacher. It is critical to build on and maintain these relationships and I certainly will ensure that these relationships continue to be made now and well into my teaching future.
- As I have never organised an excursion/incursion on my own, I would like to develop and become more aware of the excursion policy and procedures found on the Department of Education portal. Becoming familiar with these regulations will only better my knowledge of the policies and conditions behind organising excursions - which will then make it easier when planning them on my own behalf in the coming years.
- I will continue to seek and collect appropriate resources in which I believe will be helpful when organising excursions for my future classes. These resources and brochures will eventually enable me to have a wide range of options when looking at booking an excursion or incursion for my class or the school. Building contacts and networks with members of the community would severely help me with achieving this goal. I plan to continue my engagement and position within the school's P&C to assist with this also.
